I have just finished reading Grace's Story. I am so late coming to this party.
ReplyDeleteWhen the FSOG Trilogy came out a few years ago I ignored it, not being much of a reader, and then when the movie came out I didn't pay much attention to it either. So, when a couple of weeks ago I noticed the price of the DVD was so low while shopping for other items, I went ahead and ordered it on a whim. When it arrived a few days later (thank you, Amazon!)I couldn't wait to watch it, remembering all the buzz about it. Wow! What a surprise! I loved it, especially the Christian Grey character and how Jamie Dornan brought him to screen. So, I immediately ordered the trilogy, and read all three books in 4 days, I devoured them. Then I learned of Grey and ordered it. While waiting for it to be delivered, I found this blog: Meet Fifty Shades and Grace's Story. What a treat! I couldn't stop reading, and I'm so thankful all the chapters are already here, because if I'd started this obsession back in 2012 when it was being written, I'd have gone nuts waiting for more chapters - it is utterly fantastic! So wonderfully written, so humorous, sexy, sad, exciting, haunting, satisfying... I could go on and on! So, now that Grey has arrived I've started reading it, but find I keep putting it down... Although I love that EL James has brought us FSOG from Christian's perspective, I find I'm drawn to his telling more from this glorious blog given to us by Ms. Griffin, again devouring all of it, every chapter of Meet Fifty Shades and Grace's Story within a couple of days. So, I'm going to reread all the blog chapters, this time more slowly so I can savor every moment of this fabulous love story. I can't remember laughing out loud or so many tears streaming my face from reading a book. And when I feel ready, I'll pick up Grey again, appreciating that I have it, and sure to enjoy it, but I don't think it will get me as the writing in this blog has.
Thank you, Ms. G, for giving this 60-something hopeless romantic a wonderful start to her summer!

Thank you so much, Dee! I'm very happy to hear how much you enjoyed reading my blog - there are definite advantages to coming to Fifty Shades a little later - as you say, you didn't have to wait for the latest chapter each week!

Ms. Griffin, I have enjoyed your Christian Grey blog immensely. You have done a stellar job of fleshing out EL James characters. Thank you for your hard work and vision. Regards, Tara
